The car is a very nice one and was professionally restored a few years ago and I will follow this with an update note from the owners personal friend and an avid car restoration specialist. The following facts: This 1940 has had several updates and upgrades performed on it to assure it can be driven anywhere. This includes new bearing style water pumps and all electrical has been converted to 12 volt and an alternator. Also added a new distributor with electronic ignition as Flatheads really work well with electronic ignition plus an upgraded coil specific to the electronic ignition. The carburetor is new and ignition wires were replaced to compliment the needs of the electronic ignition. The radiator was also upgraded to a new aluminum 4 or 5 row that handles about an extra gallon of coolant versus a stock radiator. This 40 also has a new and much safer brake system with the addition of a modern style master cylinder which is a two reservoir versus the single reservoir found on any stock 40 Fords. This way a reservoir is dedicated to the rear and the other to the front brakes. All brakes and drums are newer units. You'll also find a master cylinder refill reservoir mounted on the fire wall which allows for the convenience of checking the brake fluid at a glance versus having to lift the floor mats and wrestle with opening the old style master to check the brake fluid. I am sure you know that drill. Great car no rust or body damage. You don't find them this clean.
